That is a very weird (and in poor taste) quote. I guess it's like the "make sure you have clean underwear on in case you get in an accident" thing. But, still . . .
(Red would probably be appropriate, though, depending on the method)
Very weird. So apart from the obvious, red, what should I be taking into consideration here? It is to impress the police who will investigate my murder? To impress my murderer? To look my best. . . what?
I believe it's along the lines of the underwear thing (as Judy said.) You know... because you don't want to look unkempt at the morgue or in front of grieving relatives.
Oh. . . OK. . . but that's just weird. . . just saying. . .my grieving relatives will be relieved if I'm wearing anything other than my really grungy dog-walking clothes. . and have make up on. . .
Meh. . not so much drilled into us but I think we've all heard it. Probably from some American TV show actually. I'm not sure if i know anyone who's mum actually says that to them. . .

I think so... I mean it does specifically say murdered, not death by natural causes... (I need an eye roll smiley....)
I've got a bunch more quotes that I've felt the need to comment on. They're all strange IMO!

I think that's the point they were trying to make. Always look fabulous no matter what. Even when walking the dog.
But "murdered"? - Personally, I wouldn't want my good clothes to get ruined by some thoughtless assassin, so I'll have to stick to sweats.
* BTW, do you have the underwear expression over there? "Always wear clean underwear?" It's drilled into us here since childhood.

It probably is from some American TV show. But I definitely heard it as a child. It's embedded in there!
